We’re now on our third full day of VidCon 2015 planning here in Missoula. Monica and Laura as well as a new part-time team member Meredith have flown in to hang with the rest of the team. We’re plowing through problems and solutions and then occasionally just having very good new breakout ideas…
Good points to think about already but also:
- How to stop hordes of people running around screaming after they catch a glimpse of someone who *might* be a famous youtuber (and then many many more just latching onto the crowd because it’s a crowd). It’s not only extremely annoying but it’s dangerous, especially when they’re hurtling through bottlenecks.
- How to communicate unplanned changes to attendees (and staff). This year there was an email about changes to signing lines, but the policy changed again before the next set of signings and wasn’t communicated. Also, the fact that you had to line up to get into the building on the Saturday wasn’t communicated *at all* prior to turning up. Even after arriving, no-one was letting people gathered around the main fountain know that they had to go and line up at the end of the building.
